Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician: version 1.5 now current
A version change is routine, but which version an apprentice sits under is not.
Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician at Level 3 is now at version 1.5. Level 3, 36 months, maximum funding £21,000, reference ST0033, currently at version 1.5.
Recorded change: Updated to version 1.5.
A new version typically revises the knowledge, skills and behaviours, the assessment plan, or both. Apprentices already on programme continue under the version they started on, and the funding rules that apply are those in force on their individual start date.
What to do about it: confirm which version each cohort is recorded against in your MIS, because you may be delivering two versions of the same standard side by side. Check whether the assessment plan moved with the version — where it did, your assessment organisation will need to be working to the revised plan. And read the change against Engineering and manufacturing as a whole, since versions often move in batches when a regulator or sector body updates its own requirements.
